March Check-In: How Are Your 2018 Goals Shaping Up?
Can you believe it’s March already? How are you doing with your goals for 2018?
I always love January, when many people start with a clean slate. I especially feel this way after I put away all the holiday decorations. My house just seems a little bit cleaner and less cluttered. If only my body could feel as clean and less cluttered, especially after weeks of rich foods and a few additional drinks.
All of us know that the No. 1 New Year’s resolution is to lose weight. We decide that we are going to go on a super-strict diet and start exercising. However, within three months, most of us have managed to stop exercising and our eating has reverted back to old habits. Here we are, nearly three months into the year — is this how you feel?
The reason why most of us can’t stick to our resolution is we don’t have a PLAN. We don’t define the purpose of why we go through the inconveniences of our resolution. We don’t look at the consequences of what will happen it we don’t follow our plan, nor do we assign a number to a realistic timeline.
Even if popular magazines say it’s possible to drop 10 pounds in two weeks, it’s critically important to have a plan and to set achievable goals. Some health and fitness experts follow the SMART method:
